easy gluten free

I had struggled for years with stomach issues that my doctors could not figure out. They continued to give me medications that did not work. I began writing down everything I ate and figured out every time I ate anything that had gluten in it, I would get sick. So I went cold turkey and cut out any food items that had gluten in them. I got better! I went back to the doctor and told him what I found and he said that I must be allergic to gluten. I have been gluten free for two years now. About six months ago I started noticing that I was feeling sluggish, not feeling good, and the skin around my eyes would burn every time I put my eye cream on. It began to get worse and the skin was actually burnt. Just like a sun burn. I recalled reading about gluten being in cosmetics and other items but never really payed much attention to it. Some doctors on the internet were saying how that they did not believe that gluten in those items actually affected those with gluten allergy. But the more my eyes began burning I decided to read the ingredients. Sure enough, WHEAT was in it! That day I took every products I use and read the ingredients and began calling all the manufactures to ask them specifically if those products were safe. I replaced my items that had gluten in them. My eyes cleared up and I began feeling better. I was not so sleepy, sluggish, and most of all no rashes or burns!
Just because you do not ingest the gluten, does not mean it does not effect you in other ways. Your skin is your largest organ and it absorbs the items that you put on your skin. It goes into your bloodstream and effects you in other ways. So if you have celiac or gluten sensitivity, please consider changing your items to those that are gluten free.
I had a very hard time finding a list of items that are gluten free. I have searched and searched and found minimal information. Most of all, I could not find a list of products that I could change my bad ones to. I had to do my own research and go through every item and call or email each company. How I wished I had a list that I could go by and not have to call the manufacturer. There are plenty of sites with food items but not cosmetics or personal items. I began compiling a list and always on the look out for more information. That need led to this website. I want to be able to give those the information that I found by actually talking to the companies and help those that were in the same situation. This site will be continued to be updated as I contact more manufactures to ask them for a list of items that are safe.
I have also included restaurant menu links. It will be an easier and faster way to be able to get a gluten free menu for favorite restaurants. The restaurant will be listed along with the link to their specific menu. So no more having to google them and reading through sites to find it!
